InstallerSHOW 2026 will host WorldSkills UK competition activity alongside the World Plumbing Conference, bringing international expertise, elite trade talent and global standards together under one roof.

This is not just a competition.

It’s a meeting point of world-class skill and global industry leadership.

What is The World Skills Forum?

The World Skills Forum is an immersive training workshop hosted as part of the World Plumbing Conference 2026 - itself co-located with InstallerSHOW at the NEC Birmingham. WorldSkills is the global benchmark for vocational talent, recognised in over 85 countries.

Over three days, the Forum brings together 15 of the best young plumbing and heating talents from around the world, preparing them for the upcoming 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai (22–27 September 2026).

This elite training experience is guided by:

  • International judges

  • Industry leaders

  • WorldSkills competition experts

Participants will work hands-on in core technical disciplines such as:

  • Joining and bending piping systems

  • Installing multilayer, copper, HDPE and PVC systems

  • Fitting sanitary fixtures and tapware

All with real-time assessment and mentorship.

Training Meets Purpose

The World Skills Forum extends beyond competition prep.

All equipment and materials used in the training workshop will be repurposed after the event to support local community organisations, building long-lasting infrastructure improvements. This reflects established programs like IWSH Plumbing Champions, which have delivered community projects at previous WorldSkills events worldwide.

Participants gain skills - and the event leaves a lasting legacy in the community.

As part of the WorldSkills UK & Skills Forum experience, visitors will witness:

  • Live skills demonstrations led by international mentors

  • Hands-on plumbing and heating technique showcases

  • WorldSkills preparatory activities and workshops

  • Insight into future international competition standards

  • Networking with global talent, trainers and industry leaders

For students, trainees, employers, training providers and seasoned professionals alike, this is a rare opportunity to see global standards in action - before the next WorldSkills Shanghai event.
