Race for Change isn’t just a competition - it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that combines adventure, team spirit, inclusivity and a powerful charitable purpose, culminating in a grand finish at InstallerSHOW 2026.

Inspired by the TV series Race Across The World, this challenge drops teams into an undisclosed European location and asks them to race back to the UK - with no phones, no internet and a limited budget.

What is Race For Change?

Race for Change is a four-day charity challenge designed to:

  • Test teamwork under pressure

  • Inspire storytelling from diverse perspectives

  • Raise funds for important causes

  • Celebrate resilience and adaptability

Teams of three must travel back to the UK from an unknown European start point - without flights, without phones and within budget constraints.

The Challenge

Teams must:

  • Navigate using only a physical world map (no phones or internet).

  • Travel using land or sea transport only - no flights.

  • Stay within a limited budget - overspending risks elimination.

  • Reach the UK in four days to cross the finish line at InstallerSHOW.

Along the way, teams face creative and educational tasks that reflect real-world challenges - all while documenting their journey and sharing it with the community

Designed for Inclusivity & Impact

Race for Change is built around diversity and social purpose:

  • Teams must include at least two members representing diverse characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, neurodivergence, disability or sexuality.

  • Along the route, teams complete challenges designed to raise awareness around water scarcity (supported by Waterwise) and inclusivity (supported by the Construction Industry Coalition).

  • The race supports The Cycle, a charity focused on water, sanitation and gender equity.

This is far more than a race - it’s a movement that reflects the changing face of the workforce and showcases what teamwork really looks like under pressure.

Each team commits to raising at least £2,500, with funds split between:

  • The Cycle (water, sanitation & hygiene projects)

  • The team’s own corporate charity of choice

This means competitors are not just racing - they are making a tangible impact on issues that matter.

Who Can Enter?

To take part, participants must:

  • Be available 19–23 June 2026

  • Hold a valid passport

  • Commit to the entry fee and fundraising target

  • Be ready for an unforgettable challenge and to share their journey with others
