Simon Ellis has over 37 years of experience in the heating industry, building a respected career grounded in technical expertise, operational leadership, and a strong commitment to people development. He began his career with British Gas, where he spent 19 years developing a solid foundation in domestic gas engineering. After a short period of self-employment, Simon joined Viessmann in 2011 as one of the company’s first four domestic engineers in the UK.

Since joining Viessmann, Simon has progressed through a range of roles that reflect both his technical capability and leadership strengths. His career journey includes positions as a Domestic Gas Engineer, Domestic Technician, Technical Engineer, and Area Service Manager. He currently serves as Field Service Manager for the North of England and Scotland.

Alongside his operational role, Simon is deeply passionate about developing the next generation of engineers and strengthening the industry through apprenticeships. Simon advocates for identifying the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn when bringing new talent into the industry. He places strong emphasis on training, mentoring, and retention—working closely with apprentices to help them grow into skilled, confident professionals. 

Simon’s career reflects a continued commitment to excellence, technical leadership, and nurturing future talent within the heating industry.
