Ruth Devine has been a director of SJD Associates, a commercial electrical contractor in Milton Keynes, since 2006. She holds other roles outside her professional position, including chair of The Electrotechnical Skills Partnership (TESP), which supports the industry with clear entry and progression routes, high quality training and assessment, and leading research.

Ruth is also chair of the ECA’s Skills Committee, a trustee of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, and a current member of the Building Safety Regulator’s Industry Competence Committee, which was set-up to facilitate the improvement of competence in the built environment industry. In previous roles, she was a trustee of Summitskills and a founding member of IfATE’s Construction & Built Environment Route Panel.

Ruth was awarded an MBE in the King’s 2024 New Year Honours list for her services to further education and apprenticeships.
