Ruben Duggan
Ruben Duggan is a highly accomplished plumbing and heating professional from Manmoel, South Wales, whose journey into the trade began at 16 years old. Leaving school to pursue a hands-on career, he undertook an apprenticeship while studying at Coleg y Cymoedd, where he achieved a Level 3 qualification in Plumbing and Heating.
Ruben has distinguished himself on both national and international stages. In 2022, he earned a gold medal at the WorldSkills UK Finals and was also named HIP Magazine’s Learner of the Year. Building on this success, he went on to secure a Bronze Medal at EuroSkills Poland in 2023, followed by a Silver Medal at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, competing against young plumbers from 36 countries around the world.
Professionally, Ruben works with his family business, Powerserv Ltd, delivering a wide range of domestic plumbing and heating services. Alongside his day-to-day work, he is committed to developing the next generation of talent - training his younger brother as an apprentice, serving as an Assistant Training Manager with WorldSkills UK, and mentoring the next competitor preparing to represent Team UK in Shanghai.
As an Ambassador for the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering, Ruben is passionate about raising standards and championing excellence across the UK. Ruben joined the PPDS scheme in 2023 as a founder member.
