Peter is deputy director at the Building Safety Regulator. Peter joined the civil service in 2015, from a career in engineering consultancy. Since then, he has worked in a number of senior roles in government relating to buildings and building regulation, and took a fundamental role in developing much of the technical standards. At the Building Safety Regulator, Peter oversees the development of Building Regulations technical guidance, the competence and performance of the building control profession, and the Competent Person Schemes. He is currently working on setting up the Building Safety Regulator as a new arms-length body to MHCLG.
