Navaz is a Senior Research Fellow in the UCL Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering and a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. With over 20 years of lighting-research experience, her work focuses on urban and street lighting'spanning pedestrian lighting, neuro-design, inclusive design, and human interactions with the built environment. She is editor and author of the award-nominated book Urban Lighting for People: Evidence-Based Lighting Design for the Built Environment, which exemplifies her multidisciplinary approach, integrating behavioural studies, psychophysics, neuroscientific methods, and technical lighting techniques.
