Madeleine leads Nesta's Sustainable Future mission, which aims to reduce carbon emissions and promote economic wellbeing in the UK. The main focus is on decarbonising homes, as they're responsible for over 20% of the UK's carbon emissions. In her previous role at Nesta, Madeleine led teams doing research and policy projects looking at how to use innovation for social good, with a particular focus on how to share the costs and benefits of innovation more equally. This focus on inclusion and fairness in innovation is really important to our work on the transition to net zero.
