Jon Vanstone
Jon Vanstone is one of the UK construction sector's most recognised voices on competence and building safety. He chairs the Industry Competence Committee (ICC), established under the Building Safety Act to raise standards across all roles in the built environment, and has been embedded in the reform agenda since its earliest stages in 2021.
Alongside his ICC role, Jon chairs both the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC) and Certass, and writes and speaks regularly on competence, regulatory culture and the practical realities of building safety reform. He also works as an independent consultant and is a former member of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC). His contribution to the building safety agenda has been formally recognised by Dame Judith Hackitt and senior industry leaders.
