John Heelham

Water Security Senior Advisor , WaterAid
John is a Senior Advisor in Water Security for WaterAid UK, based in London and supports a number of WaterAid’s programmes in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. He has spent over 15 years in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector with NGOs, international organisations and the private sector, working in both humanitarian and development contexts. With experience in over 20 countries in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, John has worked on WASH project and programme design, improving best practice, capacity development and engineering. He uses his expertise in water to improve outcomes for the stakeholders with whom WaterAid works and ensure that solutions are fit-for-purpose, sustainable and resilient and ensure access for all. He holds a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Cambridge.
