I’ve been in the industry for quite a few decades now. I worked for Glow-worm and Vaillant Group for 12 years, covering roles including New Build Manager, Specification Manager and Southern Sales Manager. Then I set up my own plumbing and heating contracting business. We installed traditional gas boiler systems and also some solar thermal and air-source heat pumps for new-build and social housing refurbishment projects in and around South Wales.
I joined Daikin UK nearly 13 years ago to help establish the residential heat pump business. I started out as Sales Manager before becoming Commercial Director and now Residential New Business Director.
The industry is changing and has to change. The future direction of residential heating is ‘set’, and the challenge is how we can help achieve the net zero carbon goals with the increased implementation of low carbon systems in our buildings. Installers will be a key factor.
