Grant Stewart is the Director of International Projects for IAPMO and the International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH), where he leads global programs that deliver safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions to underserved communities. He has spent nearly 30 years working across plumbing, training, international skills development, and humanitarian water‑sanitation initiatives. Grant has served as Manager of International Projects for IAPMO and IWSH since 2015, overseeing the design and delivery of major initiatives such as the Community Plumbing Challenge, which brings skilled tradespeople together with local communities to solve critical water and sanitation issues. Before joining IWSH, Grant built a distinguished career in technical education and skills leadership. He served as Chief Expert in Plumbing for WorldSkills International and later as Technical Delegate Assistant for Australia, contributing to global standards in vocational excellence. His earlier roles include Head Teacher at TAFE NSW, teaching positions at Charles Darwin University, and operational leadership roles in the Australian plumbing and facilities sector. Grant’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian work began in the late 1990s, when he developed a deep interest in water and sanitation projects across developing regions. Today, he continues to champion community‑driven solutions through IWSH, combining technical expertise with a passion for improving public health and living conditions worldwide.
