Dr Kate Morland is an architect who, before studying for her PhD, specialised in the occupant aspects of building performance evaluation as a freelance consultant. Now working as a Research Fellow for the Leeds Sustainability Institute at Leeds Beckett University, Kate’s work focuses on the behavioural science aspects of new build housing, the retrofit process and changing to low-carbon technologies. She is currently working on a social housing retrofit evaluation scheme for 205 homes in Yorkshire and has just finished working on a BEIS Heat Pump Ready Stream 1 project as part of a consortium, exploring what would make Leeds residents swap their current gas boiler for a GSHP.
