David Scott is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the field of fire and security apprenticeships. He began his career as an apprentice with Skills for Security, where he honed his skills and developed a deep passion for the industry.
After completing his apprenticeship, David spent seven years working for forth electrical services, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field. Recognizing his passion for education and mentorship, he transitioned into a full-time lecturer role at New College Lanarkshire. In this position, David was responsible for the fire and security apprenticeship provision, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of industry professionals.
During his eight years at NCLan, David continuously demonstrated his dedication and leadership abilities, leading to his promotion into a management role. In this capacity, he oversaw all built environment apprenticeship delivery, managing a team of over 20 staff and over 2000 students. His commitment to excellence and his ability to create a supportive learning environment contributed to the success of the apprenticeship program.
In 2019, David embarked on a new challenge as part of the team at Skills for Security. In just four years, he has made significant strides in growing the apprenticeship program from less than 100 to over 700 enrolled apprentices. This remarkable achievement is a testament to his strategic vision, strong leadership, and deep industry knowledge.
