Charlie is a Public Health Engineering Design Consultant with over six years of experience specialising in the design of above-ground drainage, domestic water services, and fire protection systems for commercial office and mixed-use developments across the United Kingdom. He delivers technically robust and compliant designs from concept through to detail, with a strong emphasis on buildability, coordination, and long-term system performance. With extensive experience working within multidisciplinary design teams, Charlie collaborates effectively with architectural, structural, catering, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to produce integrated, clash-free, optimised, and holistic practical designs. His approach combines technical knowledge with a practical understanding of site conditions. He holds a BEng (Hons) in Building Services Engineering, achieved through a Degree Apprenticeship, following five years of on-site experience where he completed Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ Diplomas in Plumbing and Heating. This background provides a strong foundation in both design and installation, enabling Charlie to translate real-world considerations into high-quality engineering solutions. Committed to professional development, Charlie has a particular interest in apprenticeship pathways and leadership within the built environment industry. His aim is to continue contributing to well-coordinated, sustainable, and practical building services designs while supporting the development of future industry talent. Charlie currently works at Phoenix ME, serves as SoPHE YEN Chair, and is recognised as a RAE Engineering Leaders Scholar.
