Beth is an Architect working at Grounded Practice – a new design studio based in London. She has a keen interest in low carbon materials and circularity in design and is currently undertaking the Carbonlite Retrofit Foundation course which is supporting her work in Lancaster where she is leading the deep-retrofit of Lune and Derby Houses to create 16 zero-carbon homes, which is acting as the pilot study for the wider Mainway Estate. The proposals will reduce fuel bills for residents while creating new outdoor space including a communal courtyard and private gardens.
She also has strong experience delivering housing on small sites and is working with the London Borough of Camden to develop their Small Sites Programme Design Brief, setting out a holistic approach to delivering characterful and viable new homes. Beth has delivered three small sites schemes in Croydon and worked with Mary Duggan to maintain quality on the construction of 157 new homes in South Coulsdon.
With Chloë & Sarah, Beth was named in the Architects’ Journal’s 40 under 40 list of the UK’s most exciting architectural talent.
