Warmur Academy launches free Five-Part Hydronic Design Series ahead of Hydronics Unlocked

Warmur Academy launches free Five-Part Hydronic Design Series ahead of Hydronics Unlocked

To achieve top efficiencies from boilers and heat pumps, installers need to know the fundamentals of good hydronic design - the rules that govern how water and heat move around a system.

Boilers have long masked the effects of poor hydronic design, but heat pumps, lower flow temperatures and tighter boiler regulations are now making these skills impossible to ignore.

This kind of training isn’t yet mainstream, leaving many engineers without the skills to design correctly or problem solve with confidence when something goes wrong.

“I see it all the time,” says Kimbo Betty, Co-Founder of Warmur Academy. “When the system’s not working properly, engineers reach for what feels like a logical fix: a bigger pump, a bigger boiler, another powerflush, and miss the real cause. Guesswork will continue to hold them back until we fix system training.”

Warmur Academy says just closing the knowledge gap isn’t enough. Engineers need a practical way to apply hydronic principles on real jobs and that's the foundation of every Warmur Academy course.

“Instead of teaching a collection of hydronics topics, we’ve built training around the skills heating engineers need to deliver high-performing systems, introducing the theory in the same order it’s applied on the job.” explains Jo Alsop, Co-Founder of Warmur Academy. “Our 10 Steps to Good Hydronic Design is designed to bridge the gap between hydronics theory and on-site skills.”

Hydronics Unlocked has been developed with the support of Ideal Heating, who recognised early on that the industry needed a more consistent and accessible way to develop system skills.

“There is a strong demand for system training from heating engineers who are keen to excel in their technical abilities. Hydronics Unlocked is a much-needed mix of theory, practical and structured process that will unlock these skills at scale for gas, oil and heat pump engineers” Andrew Johnson, Training & Design Director, Ideal Heating

The free Five-Part Hydronic Design Series is designed as an accessible introduction ahead of the full launch. Readers will need to sign up via Warmur Academy to receive each instalment direct to their inbox, along with an exclusive 20% launch discount when enrolment opens.

Episode 1 – Is it ever the pump? - Why logic leads you astray when diagnosing problems

Episode 2 – Hydronics isn’t a dark art - understanding simple system rules

Episode 3 – One skillset, two technologies - same rules, one difference

Episode 4 – You need a tool for that - a step-by-step way to design systems

Episode 5 – Heating Engineer, career of the future - skills for what’s next

Hydronics Unlocked launches at Installer Show (23-25 June), where the Warmur Academy team will be on the Ideal Heating stand.
