The national final of this year’s National RACHP Skills Competition will be held at InstallerSHOW on June 27-29. Competitors from across the country will meet at the NEC to tackle three days of competition, with the results announced on the final afternoon of the show.
The competition is delivered by the Coriolis International. Fujitsu AC will feature its air to air heat pump product in the competition – with major product sponsors including Climalife, Fieldpiece, Lawton Tubes, Diversitech, Javac, and Danfoss all contributing. In addition, independent judges will be in attendance from Bitzer UK, Coolstop, ACRIB/IOR and WorldSkills UK.
The top four highest scorers from the nationwide qualifying rounds will take part in the final, where they will be given a series of tasks to test their knowledge, skills and behaviours in time-sensitive conditions – with the tasks covering work organisation, communication, design, installation, service, repair, and fault finding.
2022 gold medallist Luke Haile will also be at InstallerSHOW. Luke is currently undertaking his training cycle in the build-up to participation as a member of Team UK at WorldSkills International 2024 in Lyon.
As well as the competition itself, there will be the opportunity for InstallerSHOW visitors to try their hand in the have-a-go experience, with hosts including Conex Bänninger.
Mark Forsyth, Managing Director at Coriolis International and WorldSkills UK Training Manager, comments: “We’re proud to announce that this year’s national final will be held at InstallerSHOW. The competition is such a valuable experience, and previous competitors have expressed how much they have learned during the national competition cycle, particularly how it has developed their knowledge of products, time management, planning, and sustainable work practice. Good luck to all competitors for this year’s special national competition, and a big thank you to all the colleges and employers who have supported their involvement.”
Mike Costain, Managing Director at Lyrical Communications, says: “We’re thrilled to bring the National RACHP Skills Competition final to InstallerSHOW and give the competitors the chance to demonstrate their abilities to our 15,000 visitors. We wish all of the finalists the very best of luck and look forward to a compelling three days of competition.”
The final will take place on stand H180, with WorldSkills UK squad training on stand H177.
