The precision laser marking system designed for plumbers and electricians

Whether installing conduit, pipework or cable runs, tradespeople need a fast and reliable way to mark holes correctly, first time. Starrett Truepoint has been designed to do exactly that – here’s an exclusive preview and you can find out more when it officially launches at InstallerSHOW 2026.

What is Starrett Truepoint?

Truepoint is a precision laser marking system designed for plumbers (Truepoint Flow) and electricians (Truepoint Spark). It allows professionals to quickly and accurately mark holes through walls, ceilings, partitions and other surfaces when installing pipework or conduit.

The lightweight unit attaches directly to existing pipe or conduit and projects a laser point onto the opposite surface, showing exactly where the next hole needs to be cut.

What are the main benefits of using Truepoint?

Truepoint has been designed to help tradespeople save time, reduce costs and improve installation accuracy.

Jobs that would traditionally require two people and take 10 to 15 minutes to measure can be completed almost instantly. By helping users cut holes correctly first time, Truepoint also reduces wasted materials, unnecessary rework and delays on site.

How does Truepoint work?

Using Truepoint is simple. The unit is fixed onto the end of the existing pipe or conduit before the laser is activated. The projected laser point then identifies the exact drilling or cutting location on the opposite surface.

Truepoint can mark multiple surfaces quickly, with the laser continuing to mark the next surface once an initial hole has been cut. Not only is set-up simple, it only needs to be done once.

How far does the laser reach?

Truepoint has a working laser range of up to 30 metres, making it suitable for a wide variety of installation environments and applications.

The unit is also equipped with a laser level to help ensure pinpoint accuracy during use.

Is the laser safe to use?

Yes. Truepoint uses a ‘Class 2’ laser which is certified safe and fully compliant with all relevant UK standards. We recommend using safety glasses while using Truepoint for extra peace of mind.

What is included in the Truepoint kit?

Each Truepoint kit includes the laser unit, two adapters, a charging cable, eight Starrett holesaws, two arbors, two pilot drills and one extended-length pilot drill.

Truepoint Spark is designed for electrical applications. Its adaptors fit 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, and 50mm conduit.

Truepoint Flow is designed for plumbing applications. Its adaptors fit 15mm, 22mm, 28mm, and 35mm pipe.

Everything is supplied in a robust hard-shell carry case for easy transport and protection on site.

Are there different versions available?

Yes. Truepoint will be available in dedicated electrical and plumbing kits, named Truepoint Spark and Truepoint Flow. We’re launching both at InstallerSHOW, where visitors will get to see demonstrations of both.

The Plumbing kit includes holesaw diameters specifically suited to insulation applications, helping installers work more efficiently across a wider range of jobs.

Is Truepoint rechargeable?

Yes. Truepoint features a rechargeable battery and charges via USB-C, with the charging cable included in the kit. The battery, when fully-charged, lasts 18 hours.

The Starrett UK team will be at InstallerSHOW at the NEC Birmingham from 23-25th June. You can find the team in Hall 5 on stand 5F15. They’ll officially launch Truepoint at the show, and will be carrying out live product demonstrations throughout the event. Come and say hi, and be among the first to see this incredible new product in action.
