Navien UK’s low-carbon heating revolution – what installers need to know
The heating industry is currently undergoing a rapid transformation, driven by global decarbonisation trends, the emergence of innovative products, and the evolving technical expertise of installers.
Installer spoke to Hur Jeon – Navien Product Planning Team 1 Team Leader – about Navien’s history, product offering and how the company is helping installers prepare for the future.
Since entering the UK market just over a decade ago, Navien has built a reputation around high-performance boilers and strong domestic hot water delivery. Navien’s UK journey began in 2014, and the brand initially made its mark with the NCB-CE, a high-efficiency gas boiler featuring a durable stainless steel heat exchanger.
In 2019, Navien further strengthened its presence with the launch of the eco-friendly LCB700 Blue Flame oil boiler. By 2022, the company set a new industry benchmark with the NCB ON gas boiler series, specifically engineered to deliver superior domestic hot water (DHW) performance.
“Navien’s primary differentiator in the UK is its focus on premium hot water delivery,” Hur Jeon explained. “Reflecting the philosophy that consistent and abundant hot water is a fundamental standard for home comfort, our NCB700 ON and NCB500 ON combi boilers are equipped with an integrated mixing valve. This advanced technology ensures a stable and abundant hot water supply without temperature fluctuations, even when multiple outlets are used simultaneously, delivering performance comparable to standalone water heaters.
“By introducing eco-friendly, high-efficiency products based on condensing technology, Navien has been striving to provide optimal solutions for ensuring a comfortable living environment for UK customers.”
Expanding the product playbook
Navien’s evolution in the UK has been marked by continuous product development and diversification. In 2026, the manufacturer is broadening its vision and expanding into the global renewables market.
A key milestone was the 2025 introduction of the PEM750 air source heat pump (ASHP). Utilising R290 refrigerant – which boasts an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 0.02 – the PEM750 has been highly commended by installers for its ease of installation and environmental credentials.
“Navien has steadily expanded its product line-up, secured a stable supply chain, strengthened service quality, and built brand awareness in the UK,” said Hur Jeon.
“Alongside our PEM750 air source heat pump, we have invested in condensing water heaters and intelligent controls, reinforcing the shift toward a more integrated offering.”
Long-term installer partnerships
One of the reasons behind Navien’s rapid growth is its manufacturing, availability and service offering. By producing key components at its base in Korea and maintaining a solid local distribution network, Navien can ensure a stable supply system.
This was proven during the 2020 COVID pandemic when Navien responded swiftly to industry-wide supply disruptions, further solidifying its market position.
“When boiler supply chains were disrupted across the industry, we quickly adapted and made sure that installers could still get their hands on our boilers,” said Hur Jeon. “This strengthened our position in the UK market, and more engineers became aware of our products.
“We recognise that local installers are the backbone of the industry, and we’re investing in building long-term partnerships with them. This is through our products, but also training and technical support.
“Navien provides comprehensive training and technical support through virtual training sessions and nationwide training centres, a dedicated Tech Support Desk, and a specialised Heat Pump Support Team.
“Another example of this is our service partnership with British Gas, which gives added confidence that their customers are supported long after the installation is complete.”

Looking ahead to InstallerSHOW 2026
Events like InstallerSHOW provide a valuable opportunity to connect directly with the market, and Navien is gearing up to make an impact.
“InstallerSHOW is a key industry event where Navien can interact directly with installers and consumers, gain market insights, and strengthen brand visibility,” said Hur Jeon.
“In 2026, Navien plans to showcase everything from next-generation boilers to advanced heat pumps and water treatment systems – demonstrating the full scope of its capabilities.”
Growing together with installers
Ultimately, Navien’s UK growth story is closely tied to the installer community – and that relationship remains central to its future.
Today’s installers are looking for more than just product performance – they want reliability, easy installation, and happy customers. Navien’s approach is built around these priorities.
“Navien has achieved rapid growth in the UK thanks to the strong interest and support of local installers,” Hur Jeon explained.
“UK installers generally prioritise ease of installation, product reliability, and end-user satisfaction,” the company notes, adding that its products are designed to reflect real-world usage patterns and customer needs.
“We are committed to delivering products of the highest quality, providing comprehensive technical support and training and building long-term partnerships to grow together with our installation partners.”
