We caught up with Mira Showers to get the lowdown on the company’s commitment to efficiency, and its offering for both installers and specifiers.

How are you helping to drive the efficiency agenda in terms of both water and energy use?
At Mira Showers, we are committed to delivering products that use less water and less energy, and that also help consumers save on bills. Motivated by both our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and to meeting and exceeding our customers’ needs, we continue to embed sustainable features and practices into what we do. From the amount of water used in the shower itself, to sustainable water and energy usage in the manufacturing process – across our business we have industry-leading teams that continue to push the envelope in both product and process innovation. From the solar powered NDC that our products are housed in, to our cooking oil fuelled Mira branded lorries, it’s not just our products that have been developed with the environment in mind. we continue to embed sustainable features and practices into what we do.

One step that we took to become more sustainable is to include a water monitoring feature within our digital shower range, which works similarly to smart meters in our homes. It helps users keep an eye on how much water they’re using in the shower in real time, and make the necessary adjustments.

Renewable technologies are another great route to become more sustainable and one that we are particularly proud of introducing within our product range. In 2023, Kohler Mira acquired specialist in wastewater heat recovery products Recoup Energy Solutions. Forming a cornerstone of Mira’s strategic vision to pioneer and develop sustainable products, the acquisition means that we’ve been able to expand our offering in an area which is growing as new build developers look to achieve the Government-set Part L targets and consumers look to save energy and money.

There is a lot of knowledge that we have built up over time through the research and testing we have undertaken, We believe that sustainability is not a short term ‘trend’, but instead it is a fundamental change that needs to happen everywhere.
