We are thrilled to confirm that Lord Callanan, Minister for Business, Energy and Corporate Responsibility, will be giving a keynote at this year’s InstallerSHOW, with an opening speech in the Decarbonising Buildings Theatre on 21st June.
Lord Callanan’s speech will kick off three days of content – featuring panel debates and CPD-accredited seminars – all focused on the route to net zero for the built environment, the future of heating, smart buildings and energy-saving retrofit.
His elemental keynote will be immediately followed by a session on NIBE Energy Systems UK’s project with University of West London, as part of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), and then a panel discussion on how social housing providers can meet the challenge of retrofitting their existing building stock.
InstallerSHOW and elemental run from 21-23 June at Birmingham’s NEC. Visitors to the free-to-attend elemental content theatres will get an opportunity to learn about the key issues facing the industry when it comes to energy, heat, air and water in our buildings.
Some of the other highlights of the conference programme will include how big data can help to achieve energy efficiency, successful district heating projects, how we judge sustainable housing and how to future-proof developments to make long-term thinking affordable.
Confirmed speakers so far include environmental campaigner Jonathon Porritt, who will be delivering a keynote speech on 22nd June. Attendees will also hear from experts from organisations including Wates Group, Cheltenham Borough Council, Birmingham City Council, PEPA, Genesis Housing and many more. There will also be a series of seminars and panel discussions run by BEAMA, with topics to include making heating systems fit for the future and how high-tech housing can work.
The theatres will be hosted by Dhruti Shah, Fiona Harvey and Jim McClelland, three journalists with extensive experience in sustainability and environmental issues.
