Join Severn Trent and help replace Coventry customer supply pipes as part of the Green Recovery Grant Scheme

Before March 2025, we want to upgrade up to 25,000 customer-owned water supply pipes across Coventry. It’s one of the biggest recent investments in local water networks and will protect safe, reliable and high-quality water supplies for the city.

It’s an ambitious plan, and we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re offering a Supply Pipe Grant to industry-approved underground pipe installers, to help us with the upgrade.

We look after the water main and communication pipe, but customers are responsible for maintaining their supply pipe. So, if there are any problems, usually the homeowner has to organise and pay for repairs.

Before 1969, lead was often used as the base material for customer supply pipes and other water infrastructure in our region. By now, many of these pipes will be past their best.

As part of our Green Recovery Programme, we want to update our local water networks to make them fit for the future, reduce the risk of leaks, and make the most of our water. We’re working in Coventry to replace these older pipes with an industry-standard, plastic pipe.

Why join our Grant scheme?

  • A steady stream of work across Coventry – our scheme is in high demand, meaning plenty of work to get stuck into
  • A generous grant contribution to complete the work
  • Complete the work for your current customers – if your customer has lead or leaking pipes you can get a grant to complete this work for them

You can find out more about joining our approved plumber scheme here: https://www.stwater.co.uk/businesses/become-an-approved-plumber/ or come and see us at our InstallerSHOW stand in June!
