Collaboration was at the forefront of InstallerSHOW 2026
In this month’s article, Mark Allison shares an update on the live recording of The Renewables Podcast, which took place at InstallerSHOW last month.
What a show InstallerSHOW 2026 was! A huge privilege to have The Renewables Podcast in attendance both with a stand and an hour-long live podcast, featuring five technical managers from the electrical industry.
This is the superpower of InstallerSHOW – bringing collaboration and conversations to the forefront and with installers at heart. We tried to deliver a great conversation on our part and put on a show through the stand with merchandise giveaways and more.
The live podcast recording is rolling through our YouTube and audio channels during July 2026, and we have episodes we recorded roving the show already live on the channel.
Huge thanks to my podcast cohost Sam Featherstone, and also Michael Stott who captured so many conversations throughout the event. Along with Steve (NAPIT), Tony (NICEIC), Darren (ECA), John (ESA) and Steve (ESF) for taking part in the podcast all about island mode fault protection and plug-in solar.
More widely at the event we had product launches, trade competitions and so much more. I loved the slate roofing competition too – the skill on show was insane!
InstallerSHOW is THE greatest tradeshow the UK has to offer around construction, and we look forward to attending in the future.

In the day job we are rolling through some interesting solar projects including some larger ground mount systems. I will be back with an interesting technical article on that later in the summer.
