BMA Chief Executive Tom Reynolds takes a look at plans for InstallerSHOW 2023, and why it’s a must-attend for installers:
The Bathroom Manufacturers Association eagerly looks forward to InstallerSHOW 2023 at the NEC from 27-29 June. This event represents a fantastic opportunity for the BMA members to showcase the latest innovations and technologies in bathroom design and installation.
Many bathroom brands will be exhibiting their latest products and solutions. They’ll use it to connect with key industry players and professionals, exchange ideas, and explore new opportunities for growth and collaboration. The show also provides a platform for the BMA to share its vision for a sustainable future in the bathroom industry.
The BMA members look forward to welcoming visitors to their stands, allowing them to see their products in action and discuss projects with the true experts – the installers who fit the kit.
As an association, we’re delighted to host the ‘Bathroom Zone’ as a hub for brands and bathroom installers alike. On our stage, we’re planning a jam-packed three days of programming that promises to inform and entertain with presentations, panel debates and high-profile interviews.
Tuesday, 27 June, in the Bathroom Zone will look at the future of bathrooms and bathroom installation. We’ve put together a speaker programme of top experts to cover how brands, merchants and installers can all innovate to boost business. We’ll cover new ways of getting materials to site, the latest bathroom tech, how social media can improve trade, and what to make of e-commerce.
On Wednesday, 28 June, in our Bathroom Zone, we will focus on boosting customer satisfaction. Our consumer research in 2022 showed that installers are, by far, the biggest influence on consumers as they plan and purchase a new bathroom. However, those customers that left the design element of work to installers reported high levels of dissatisfaction. We’ll consider how we can correct that trend and get better outcomes for the homeowners.
The final day of the show in the Bathroom Zone will be BMA’s sustainability forum. We’ll be revisiting some of the perennial challenges for the sector, including water efficiency, recycling in the bathroom, and encouraging more sustainable consumer behaviours. Crucially, we’ll discuss the information installers need to help their customers make more sustainable choices.
We recognise that installers are vital to manufacturers for several reasons. Firstly, installers are responsible for ensuring that products are installed correctly, ensuring that they function as intended and perform to their highest standards.
Secondly, installers are the best link between manufacturers and end-users, providing valuable feedback on product design, functionality, and performance. This feedback can help manufacturers improve their products and stay ahead of the latest trends and consumer preferences.
Thirdly, installers are also responsible for building brand loyalty by providing excellent customer service and promoting the manufacturers’ products to potential customers. Without the support of skilled installers, manufacturers would struggle to reach their target market and grow their business. Hence, both bathroom installers and manufacturers must work together to build a sustainable bathroom industry, and InstallerSHOW gives us an excellent opportunity to do so.
