Myth‑Busters: Fact vs. Fiction – Exposing Electrical Industry Myths and Social Media Noise
This interactive session cuts through the noise on social media to challenge some of the most persistent myths within the electrical industry. With input from guest experts across manufacturing, education and standardisation, we will explore topics such as EICRs, SPDs, qualifications and Amendment 4, highlighting were accurate, evidence‑based guidance should be sourced.
The key message is the importance of obtaining information from the right sources, such as CPS bodies, manufacturers, contractor and manufacturer associations, rather than relying on unverified commentary, as anyone can say anything on social media.
Session format
The audience will be presented with examples of misinformation (quoted directly from social media) and invited to vote digitally on whether they agree, disagree, or are unsure. With support from our guest experts, we will then provide the correct information, clearly referencing authoritative sources, and address each myth directly.
