Led by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), this session explores recent efforts to collect and analyse water use data in non-residential buildings to support the expansion of the Water Demand Calculator® beyond domestic applications. With a focus on commercial environments—including hotels, hospitals, offices, schools, and retail spaces—the presentation shares findings from real-world monitoring projects and highlights patterns in peak demand, water stagnation, and operational inefficiencies. The session offers insight into how this data is informing sustainable building design, improving resource forecasting, and shaping future updates to plumbing standards.
