Quality Plumber Week is running from 10-16 October 2022, championing the invaluable work of the plumbing and heating contractors around the UK. And boy do we need quality tradespeople as we go into one of the most challenging heating seasons in recent memory.
The cost of living crisis continues to dominate headlines, with new research from Worcester Bosch just this week finding that 90% of Brits are concerned about October’s energy price rise.
To pile on the pressure, we head into the Winter with a new Prime Minister and Chancellor fresh on the back of a u-turn from a disastrous mini-budget which sent the pound crashing down, forcing intervention from the Bank of England. Installers are also being affected by stock availability as global supply chain issues are not at the output that they were before the Covid-19 pandemic.
This means that engineers going into homes to repair heating systems will find customers are under more financial strain, and may be more reluctant or unable to pay for repairs and replacements.
The good news is, heating and plumbing engineers are some of the best problem solvers and customer service experts, and adapt to each individual situation the best way they can. As we head into the cold months, the role they play is absolutely vital to keeping us all warm, watered and healthy, and that’s definitely something worth celebrating.
