Installer reached an impressive milestone of 10,000 total webinar registrations in July 2022. Head of Content Joe Sharpe takes a look at how the sessions benefit brands and installers
It seems strange to say, but in hindsight, there were positives to come out of the COVID lockdowns.
As we all had to adjust to working from home and staying indoors as much as possible, our behaviours and the way we went about our daily lives changed.
It was the same for tradespeople, although their job is very physical, and one of the biggest successes for Installer as a news and information provider was our webinars.
It was a fast, and a little daunting, pivot when we started producing our first online sessions and digital FESTIVALs back in April 2020. Although we’d participated in live roundtable discussions and training events, and provided educational content on InstallerONLINE, it was a steep learning curve to transition to webinars.
There were a few technical hiccups along the way, but two years later we’ve put on over 100 sessions, and have ticked over to 10,000 total registrations, which are being added to daily thanks to the on-demand functionality.
Now that the world has opened up, the numbers aren’t slowing down either, with seven of our last ten sessions going over 100 registrations.
For installers, the advantages of these webinars are clear. With so much change in the industry, new product launches, legislation updates and new government schemes, these webinars help to keep installers ahead of the game.
Taking place online means busy tradespeople can access this info wherever they are, onsite, in the van or in the office, and the ability to watch on-demand means they can catch up if a job goes long and they miss it.
It also gives them interaction with the speakers, and the ability to ask questions and get responses in real-time.
For the second half of the year, we will be bringing engineers even more unmissable webinars, partnering with the APHC for Quality Plumber Week from 10-16 October, plus our latest Net Zero FESTIVAL on 21-25 November.
