Recharging The Trade at Installer 2026
Luthmore, the company responsible for engineering the world’s first battery-enabled boiler, is set to return to InstallerSHOW this year with a clear shift in focus, as it moves from early-stage product showcasing into full commercial rollout on a national scale.
After making its debut at last year’s event, the company has spent the past 12 months not just building up its sales pipeline but developing and refining its flagship battery-enabled electric boiler, the Luthmore One, through early adopter trials. The benefits of that work are now being fully realised, with the product being rolled-out into a range of homes on the back of exceptional nationwide demand. Its Zero Emissions technology, compact size and cost proposition makes it a viable clean heat option for the small home: properties where other solutions, such as heat pumps, are unsuitable.
The next stage for the business is all about delivery at scale, for which its installer partners will be critical. At InstallerSHOW, Luthmore will centre its presence around the theme of ‘Recharging the Trade’, with a strong focus on supporting installers in the role they play in the shift towards low-carbon heat.
Leading that drive is CEO Herve Dehareng, who joined Luthmore earlier this year following almost two decades at Dyson as an executive director, where he worked on the development and rollout of several of the company’s most recognisable products. His focus now is on taking Luthmore from product development into commercial delivery, upskilling installers to meet consumer demand.
Herve says: “Over the past year, we’ve learned a huge amount from working closely with installers and early adopters, and that has directly shaped how the Luthmore One performs today. The focus now is on scaling that proposition, making sure installers feel confident with the technology and can see where it fits within the wider range of heating solutions.”
Alongside live demonstrations of the system, the team will be encouraging installers to get hands-on with the technology and sign-up to its free, ongoing training programme. As the company expands its network, it is looking to work more closely with installers who want to upskill in new technologies, while also helping connect them with its growing base of homeowners interested in low-carbon solutions.
Herve continues: “We could reward our installer partners with a bottle of wine but we think supporting them with business growth is more useful. We have a growing base of homeowners interested in the Luthmore One, to whom we need to recommend engineers who are fully trained and trusted. We’re totally committed to bridging those conversations, and helping installers to connect with new customers.”
From a product perspective, Luthmore’s approach is built around familiarity as much as innovation. The Luthmore One is designed to deliver the same experience and performance as a gas combi, but in an all-electric format, with a straightforward installation process that works with existing systems and avoids the need for upgrades such as tanks or radiator changes.
The Luthmore One is also fully solar compatible, allowing homeowners to charge their batteries throughout the day and move away from reliance on the grid.
The system also makes use of off-peak electricity, storing energy and deploying it when needed, helping homeowners manage running costs while maintaining performance.
More broadly, the company sees its technology as part of a wider mix of heating solutions, particularly for properties where heat pumps are not always practical. Its focus is on reducing the cost and disruption of switching to low-carbon heating, making it a more accessible option for a wider range of homes.
Visitors to Stand 5G92 will be able to see the system in action, speak to the team, and learn more about how Luthmore is approaching the next phase of its rollout.
